The DGCA, an airline regulator, fined IndiGo ₹22.20 crore on Saturday and cautioned its CEO, Pieter Elbers, and two other top executives for last month's flight disruptions, which the watchdog attributed to poor management structure and insufficient regulatory preparation. In addition, the airline was required by the regulator to provide a ₹50-crore bank guarantee to assure both long-term systemic adjustment and compliance with its orders. Due to the airline's lack of preparation for the new flight duty regulations for pilots, IndiGo had to cancel hundreds of flights throughout the nation in early December.⚖️✈️💰
